The EBM EspressNet® Software
Much like an iTunes for books, EspressNet retrieves, encrypts, transmits, and catalogues books from a multitude of English and foreign language sources (including public domain sources, traditional publishers and self-published authors). This digital catalog connects the EBM to a vast network of content as well as to other EBMs. It enables books to be ordered onsite at the EBM and can be integrated with a retail or library website so that consumers can order books online. EspressNet tracks sales, provides for all payments to content providers, and uses industry-standard encryption methods to keep content safe.
Through our partnership with Google, titles can be discovered through the Google Books website and ordered online via a direct link to the website of the EBM retailer or library.
Content providers already taking advantage of the EBM channel include:
- Publisher clients of Lightning Source, Inc.™ (the POD subsidiary of the Ingram Book Group), including Random House, Hachette, McGraw-Hill, Simon & Schuster, WW Norton, Macmillan, HarperCollins, O’Reilly Media, Baker Publishing Group, The Perseus Book Group, and others;
- Google Books;
- Internet Archive;
- Numerous major publishers, content aggregators, and foreign-language content, representing additional titles, journals, and other material.
